Emiliano Tria Tirona
Senator Tirona was born in Kawit, Cavite in 1882.
He was educated at Ateneo Municipal de Manila, Instituto Burgos in Malolos and Escuela de Derecho de Manila where he finished his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1902 and Bachelor of Laws degree in 1905 and at the same time was admitted to the bar. He also obtained his degree of Licencion do en Ciencia Jurisdicas (LLM.).
In 1906, he became secretary of the Instituto Filipino and later sub-director and director of the same institution. In 1910, he was elected member of the Executive Committee of the Partido Nacionalista. He was twice elected representative of Cavite from 1916 to 1919 and from 1931 to 1934. Senator Tirona was elected Senator from 1922 to 1928 and became a member of the “Osrox” Independence Mission to the U.S. from 1931 to 1932.
