PDP Laban fortifies Davao del Norte stronghold

The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino - Lakas ng Bayan (PDP Laban) began the long weekend with an oathtaking ceremony for 30,000 new members in Tagum City, Davao del Norte on Friday.

PDP Laban President and Senate President Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III, along with PDP Laban Secretary General House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez led the new members in their pledges at the University of Southeastern Philippines.

"It's the beginning of a long weekend, but PDP Laban is not resting on its mission of spreading Change and Federalizing the Philippines. Our 30,0000 new members here in the home province of our Secretary General will significantly bolster our efforts", said Pimentel.

Also joining Pimentel and Alvarez were Representatives Zajid Mangudadatu of the 2nd District of Maguindanao and Reynaldo Umali of the 2nd District of Oriental Mindoro.

The oathtaking in Tagum was only a part of PDP Laban's continued nationwide recruitment.

On Thursday, Pimentel went to Bocaue, Bulacan to preside over the oathtaking ceremony of Bocaue Mayor Eleanor "Joni" Villanueva-Tugna and local grassroots leaders.

The ceremony was attended by CIBAC party-list representative Sherwin Tugna and provincial leaders of PDP Laban.

Pimentel then visited Villanueva's father, Bro. Eddie Villanueva of the Jesus is Lord movement, at the latter's home in the city.
