The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino - Lakas ng Bayan (PDP Laban) accepted 30,000 new members from Bulacan to its ranks in a massive Basic Membership Seminar and oathtaking ceremony held on Monday at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center in Malolos, Bulacan.

The new members were welcomed into the Party by Party President and Senate President Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III, Secretary General and House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, Party Vice Chairman and Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Presidential Adviser for Political Affairs Francis Tolentino, Secretary Raul Lambino, Representatives Albee Benitez, Karlo Nograles, Alfred Vargas, Monsour del Rosario, LV Villarica, Rida Robes, Dong Mangudadatu, Sherwin Tunga, and Rey Umali, and Undersecretaries Martin Diño and Donato Marcos.

"This is one of the biggest oathtakings we've held so far. I am overwhelmed by the support Bulakeños show for Federalism", said Pimentel.

The event was organized by the Bulacan Provincial Chapter of PDP Laban, with the theme, "PDP LABAN BULACAN Suportado ang Pangulo tungo sa Federalismo."

Pimentel said, "We really feel the support of the people of Bulacan for PDP Laban and Federalism. With this oathtaking, we increased Party membership by 10% in just one day."

PDP Laban is the largest political party in the Philippines, counting more than 300,000 members, including 2 Senators, 122 Members of the House of Representatives, 38 Governors, 23 Vice Governors, 540 Mayors, and 316 Vice Mayors.

The ruling Party is led by its Chairman, President Rodrigo Duterte, who ran on a platform of Change for the country in the 2016 elections.

In the 36th Anniversary Celebration of PDP Laban, Pimentel audited the campaign promises of Duterte, and noted that six of nine promises were already fulfilled just one and a half years into his term.
