GORDON WANTS LIST OF ALL PEOPLE WHO RECEIVED DENGVAXIA SHOTS

For easier monitoring of the people who received Dengvaxia shots should they develop symptoms of dengue or adverse reactions, the Senate Blue Ribbon wants a comprehensive list of all the people administered with the said vaccine.

Senator Richard J. Gordon, chair of the Senate Committee on Accountability of Public Officers & Investigations (Blue Ribbon), said the Departments of Health (DOH), Education (DepEd), and Interior and Local Government (DILG) should work together and submit a list.

Gordon said the list should indicate the date of birth of each person inoculated, the number of shots received, and the dates and venue of vaccination. It should also indicate whether or not there was any reason for discontinuance or any adverse reaction known by the vaccination team.

"The health of the people is paramount, hence we have to take all measures to ensure the health and safety of the people who were inoculated," he stressed.

The Blue Ribbon Committee set its fourth hearing on Monday, January 22 on what has become the country's medical nightmare.

The issues on the undue haste of procuring the vaccines and the accountability of the Office of the President, the DOH, the Food and Drug Administration, the Department of Budget and Management, and other agencies that may be involved will be tackled in the said hearing.

"While certain groups may already have filed charges in courts, the duty of Congress to propose recommendations in aid of legislation, particularly on the undue haste of procuring the vaccines, remains to be in place. It is Congress' duty to make people aware of these issues," Gordon pointed out.
