AURORA PROVINCE AND MUTYA NG PILIPINAS 2009 SEALED THE DEAL, ANNOUNCES ANGARA

Senator Edgardo J. Angara today supported the grand launch of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2009 at SM City North EDSA Annex in partnership with his hometown, Aurora province.

"Two beauties - the Filipina beauty and the beauty of the environment and nature - in one event showcase their distinct similarities as each symbolizes elegance and vitality. Aurora as a green province, in this event, will boast its proud gift from nature. Aside from a potential eco-tourism center, Aurora prides its rich history and culture," said Angara, a proud son of Baler, Aurora.

He added, "The environment in Aurora is a budding tourist investment where people and foreigners alike can go diving, snorkeling, and surfing by the wide beaches of the province. Its lush green mountains which house the biggest forest cover in the country are enticing territories serving as an abode to an admirable number of waterfalls. These mountains are also perfect sites for trekking and mountain climbing."

The grand launch was attended by Mutya ng Pilipinas, Inc. President Roberto de Venecia, Aurora province Governor Bellaflor Angara-Castillo and Congressman Juan Edgardo Angara.

The Mutya ng Pilipinas, Inc. (Mutya) is a non-stock, non-profit organization based in the Philippines and geared towards promoting peace, goodwill, trade and tourism among participating candidates from all over the Philippines including those from the Filipino communities in the East Coast USA, Midwest, California, Canada, Hawaii, Australia, Germany, United Kingdom, and Scandinavia.

It also aims to promote the country's distinct destinations by partnering with local regions to uphold beauty tourism as well as social responsibility.

"This significant event highlights the Filipina beauty and Aurora as it celebrates its 400th year of foundation. I urge everyone to come and support this partnership between two distinguished parties," said Angara.
