Jose Ozamis
Senator Ozamis was born in Aloran, Misamis Occidental, on May 5, 1898.
He received his elementary education from the parochial school of his hometown and graduated as Bachelor of Arts from the Ateneo de Manila in 1916. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws at the University of the Philippines with honors in 1921 and passed the bar examinations at the same year.
Senator Ozamis practiced law, joined the law firm of Kincaid and Perkins and after two years of practicing he left for United States for post graduate course and obtained Master of Laws degree in New York in 1929.
Senator Ozamis was elected provincial governor of Misamis Occidental from 1929 to 1931. He was twice elected as representative to the Philippine Legislature from 1931 to 1934 and from 1934 to 1935 and delegate to the Constitutional Convention from 1934 to 1935. He served as an assemblyman for two consecutive terms from 1935 to 1938 and from 1938 to 1941.
