STATEMENT OF SENATOR RISA HONTIVEROS ON NTC'S CEASE AND DESIST ORDER VS ABS-CBN CORPORATION

Nakakabahala na habang nasa gitna tayo ng krisis ay pinapatigil mismo ang operasyon ng ABS-CBN. Ngayon pa habang napakahalagang maihatid ang mga impormasyon na dapat malaman ng publiko tungkol sa COVID-19 at sa mga programa na makatutulong sa kanila.

Given the circumstances, this cease and desist order by the NTC is ill-timed and insensitive to the needs of the public. The delivery of timely and correct information is essential to our COVID-19 response. This shutdown order goes against public welfare.
