Bong Go visits Fire victims in CDO and Iligan; Malasakit Center operations to continue despite PCSO halt order

Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go visited victims of multiple fire incidents that happened in the cities of Cagayan De Oro and Iligan City on Saturday where 169 families or 535 individuals are affected.

Go went to Brgy. Macabalan in Cagayan de Oro City where the victims were gathered. He expressed his commitment to assist the fire victims as he brought with him relief goods like uniforms, school supplies and other assistance.

Also joining Go were various government agencies that provided relief and recovery assistance to the victims.

Go also expressed his steadfast commitment to continue to go around the country to help Filipinos victimized by calamities and tragedies such as fire incidents.

Meanwhile, in an interview, Go was asked about his thoughts on President Rodrigo Duterte's halt order on the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office's (PCSO) gaming activities over alleged "massive corruption" in the agency.

Go also clarified that the operations of Malasakit Centers all over the country will not be affected by the halt order.

"Budgeted na ang PCSO for this year kaya hindi apektado ang mga Malasakit Centers," Go said.

Go also answered questions on the rehabilitation efforts in Marawi City. He said that as the Vice Chairman of the Housing Committee in the Senate, he will be monitoring developments on the rehabilitation of the city.

When asked about his main focus now that he is a Senator, Go said that providing swift service to Filipinos will always be his priority.

"Ang main focus ko? Filipino people. Prayoridad ko ang unahin ang pagserbisyo sa Pilipino," he said.
