Sen. Recto's endorsement boosts Batangueño vote for Sen. Bam

LIPA, Batangas -- Re-electionist Sen. Bam Aquino's chances of capturing the Batangueño vote got a huge lift after he was formally endorsed by a popular political figure from the province in fellow Sen. Ralph Recto.

"Naririto ako upang ipahayag, paulit-ulit, iyong ating suporta kay Sen. Aquino," Sen. Recto said during a press conference here.

"Si Bam nakasama ko sa trabaho iyan, at masasabi ko karapat-dapat ibalik sa Senado. Karamihan ng mga panukalang batas ko at panukalang batas niya, pare-pareho," he added.

Sen. Recto said he worked closely with Sen. Bam in pushing for the enactment of the Free College Law and many other important laws.

"Dito sa Lipa, dapat palakihin natin iyong abante ni Bam Aquino. Ipakita natin ang suporta sa kanya," stressed Recto, who also spoke in behalf of his wife, Cong. Vilma Santos-Recto.

Sen. Bam thanked his fellow senator and his wife for their support, saying it will be instrumental in his effort to woo the Batangueño vote.

"Maraming salamat po sa suporta ni Sen. Ralph at ni Ate Vi, at sa malaking tulong nila na ilapit tayo sa puso ng mga kababayan nating Batangueño," said Sen. Bam.

Sen. Bam's said he considers Sen. Recto's endorsement as a big honor, coming from one of the best and most respected members of the Senate.

"Hindi po matatawaran ang husay at talino ni Sen. Ralph bilang mambabatas kaya po malaking bagay ang tiwala niya lalo na dahil siya ang isa sa pinaka-ginagalang kong kasama sa Senado," said Sen. Bam.
