Senate commends outstanding Filipinos for exemplary work

The Senate adopted a resolution today commending four teachers, three soldiers and three police officers who were recognized by the Metro Bank Foundation for their excellent work and extraordinary dedication in their respective professions.

Senate Resolution 836, introduced by Senator Nancy Binay, was adopted in consideration of Senate Resolutions 846, 859, 860, and 869 introduced by Senators Sonny Angara, Francis "Chiz" Escudero, Gregorio Honasan II, and Joel Villanueva respectively.

"These four teachers, three soldiers, and three police officers have made our country proud and have proven to the world the country's promise for greatness in the field of education, military service, and law enforcement," Binay said in her resolution.

Escudero said this year's 10 awardees would join the ranks of the 655 outstanding public servants previously recognized by Metrobank since 1985.

This year's recipients of Metrobank Foundation in Public Service are Mary Jane Ramo, Master Teacher II of the Tonggo Elementary School; Alma Janagap, Master Teacher II of the Pavia National High School; Aimee Marie Gragasin, Special Teacher V of the Philippine Science High School, Cagayan Valley Campus; Carla Dimalanta, Professor X of the University of the Philippines, Diliman; Lieutenant Colonel Francis Senoron, Assistant Division Chief of the Logistics Management Division of the Armed Forces of the Philippines; Lieutenant Colonel Danilo Facundo, Director of the Mobile Training and Exercise Unit of the Marine Corps Force Development Center; Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Ryan Seguin, Squadron Commander of the 7th Tactical Squadron, 5th Fighter Wing, Philippine Air Force; Senior Police Officer 1 Aida Awitin, Assistant Police Community Relations Police Non-Commissioned Officer of the Davao Occidental Police Provincial Office; Police Senior Inspector Dennis Ebsolo, Chief of Police of the Villanueva Municipal Police Station; and Police Senior Superintendent Pascual Muñoz, Jr., Chief of the Supply Management Division of the Philippine National Police.

According to Angara, this year's search was launched in November 2017 with the objective of recognizing the individuals for their "outstanding services and contribution to nation-building."

"The Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos Award recognizes Filipino citizens who are models of excellence in their professions, who live in accord with the values of patriotism, integrity, and resourcefulness, having their social responsibilities in mind, in the performance of their profession," Honoasan said.

The Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos is a career-service award program being implemented in partnership with the Rotary Club of Makati Metro Award for Soldiers, and the Rotary Club of New Manila East for Award for Police Officers.
