On the Third Reading Approval of SB 1749 or Land Terminal Improvement Act

Mr. President,

I would like to thank this Chamber for the speedy approval and third reading of Senate Bill No. 1749 under Committee Report No. 286. This is the proposed "Land Terminal Improvement Act."

With the approval of this measure, our land and Roll-On/Roll-Off terminals will become oases for our travellers.

Una sa lahat, hindi na parang premyo sa game show ang malinis na palikuran sa mga terminal. Dapat lahat malinis at walang kinokolekta para gamitin ang mga C.R.

Para sa mga kapwa kong nanay--although lagpas na ako sa edad na ito--lalagyan ng breastfeeding station ang bawat terminal. And for the Instagram and Facebook generation, or for those who need to send important messages, we will require free internet, Wi-Fi, or broadband to be provided in these terminals.

To borrow a phrase from our Senate President, kung saan ka man pumunta 'mula Batanes hanggang Jolo'--para magpalamig sa Baguio, mag-surfing sa Bale r, kumain ng Buyos sa Pangasinan, o magkape sa Batangas--you can expect a brief yet pleasant respite in our terminals.
