Statement of Senator Nancy Binay on the assassination of Mayor Antonio Halili

We condemn in the strongest terms the assassination of Tanauan City Mayor Antonio Halili.

The string of killings of ordinary people, lay persons and priests, former politicians and local officials, spawns a disturbing pattern of lawlessness and indifference to the value of human life.

This senseless disregard for human life should stop. We urge the proper authorities to quickly bring the perpetrators to justice.

Lubos kaming nakikiramay sa mga naiwang mahal sa buhay ni Mayor Tony. To the bereaved family, we pray that they remain strong while allowing their faith to see them through in this time of pain and sorrow.
