Villanueva commends Alab Pilipinas for bagging ASEAN Basketball League title

Senator Joel Villanueva, vice chairperson of the Senate committee on sports, commended on Thursday the Philippine basketball team, San Miguel Alab Pilipinas, for winning the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) title with a 102-92 Game 5 triumph over Thailand's Mono Vampire at Sta. Rosa Multipurpose Complex in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna Wednesday night.

"Congratulations, Alab Pilipinas! We are the Champions! Thank You, Lord Jesus!" Villanueva said in a tweet.

Villanueva, a basketball enthusiast himself, said that the triumph of San Miguel Alab Pilipinas is another testament of the world class talent of the Filipino people.

"San Miguel Alab Pilipinas team gave us reasons why we should be proud as Filipinos. Their victory attests to the hard work, determination, and greatness of our athletes. Mabuhay po ang bawat atletang Pilipino!" Villanueva said.
