Cavite adds to momentum of Change

The ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino - Lakas ng Bayan (PDP) on Friday added another formidable bailiwick to its already considerable national presence as local officials from the Province of Cavite threw their all-out support behind the political party of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

In a program held in Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay City on Friday, party members Vice Governor Ramon "Jolo" Revilla III, Representatives Roy Loyola (5th District), and Abraham "Bambol" Tolentino brought local government officials from the province, led by former Governor Juanito Victor (Jonvic) Remulla, to take their oaths as PDP Laban members before Senate President and Party President Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III.

"In every province, the call for Change led by PDP Laban is gaining momentum. The more Partners for Change we have, the better the chances of implementing real and sustainable Change", said Pimentel.

Four out of six cities and 16 out of 17 municipalities of the province were represented by their respective local government officials.

Cavite is ranked second among "vote-rich" provinces in the country, with a turnout of 1,354,603 voters during the 2016 Presidential Elections, with 557,639 of them voting for President Rodrigo Duterte, Chairman of PDP Laban.

"With Congress soon to convene as a constitutional assembly, the party's presence in all provinces would boost our efforts in shifting to Federalism and making it work for the welfare of our people", said Pimentel.
