I AM READY TO BE YOUR VICE PRESIDENT: BONGBONG MARCOS
Urges Voters to Guard Their Votes

Four days before the May 9 elections, Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. has already claimed victory against his rivals in the Vice Presidential contest saying he is ready to be the country's next Vice President.

This he declared as he urged all voters to guard their votes when he openly walloped the Administration in strong words for using its huge resources in trying to foil his bid.

Marcos made the twin statements during his Miting de Avance held on Thursday night in Nueve de Pebrero St. Barangay Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City, which turned into a virtual send-off by tens of thousands of supporters for the "new Vice President of the Philippines."

In the political rally, he was joined by his family and thousands of supporters nationwide led by Mandaluyong City Benhur Abalos, who hosted the event.

Marcos said his victory was imminent because of the huge support given to him not only by the people who have embraced his advocacy for national unity, but also by major political parties like the National Unity Party, Lakas, a segment of the Liberal Party, Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino (LDP) and religious groups such as the reported endorsements of Iglesia Ni Cristo and El Shaddai.

"Kaya't nakikita na po, eh siguro madali na at pwede nang sabihin, alam kong Huwebes pa lang po (ngayon) pero panalo na tayo dahil tayo ay nagkaisa," Marcos announced to the thundering cheers of the crowd.

Marcos said it's unusual that the government, using its vast resources, has been seriously attempting to weaken his chances, although he is running just for the Vice Presidency and the not the Presidency.

"Ngayon lang tayo nakakita na 'yung buong gobyerno, lahat ng kakayahan, lahat ng kuwarta, lahat ng puwedeng gawin ay ginawa hindi sa isang kandidato bilang Pangulo, (kundi) ginawa nila bilang pangkontra sa isang kandidato bilang Bise Presidente, ang inyong abang-lingkod," Marcos said.

Marcos assessed that the Administration could be behind the scheme of establishing a highly questionable trend in surveys, which had signs of manipulation showing his opponents either closing in on him, or having a slim margin between him and his closest rival, or even overtaken his lead, to influence the decision of the voters.

He called on the people anew to be vigilant and make a united stand against cheating in the elections by fighting for an honest and credible polls.

"Dapat magbantay tayo dahil ang maaari lang magawa para hindi lumabas ang pagkapanalo ng inyong abang-lingkod sa Lunes ay sila ay mandadaya. Huwag tayong papayag na nanakawin ang inyong mga boto," Marcos concluded.
