POE: WE WILL BE THE END OF 'GOBYERNONG MANHID, BULAG'

Independent presidential candidate Sen. Grace Poe said her "Gobyernong may Puso" will end the years of neglect and insensitivity that have driven millions of Filipinos to poverty and criminality.

Speaking at the third PiliPinas Presidential Debate, Poe said the next six years will be crucial to instituting the changes needed to raise a generation of Filipinos that is well-educated and well-fed.

The senator, who is running on a platform of genuine inclusive growth, global competitiveness and transparency in government, has vowed to allocate P30-40 billion to fund the free lunch program for all students in public daycare centers and elementary schools.

Poe and running mate Sen. Francis Escudero have also committed to help the agriculture sector, which comprise the poorest Filipinos, by providing a budget of at least P300 billion to the sector.

Poe, the daughter of Fernando Poe, Jr. and Susan Roces, stressed the power of Filipino voters to shape their future by choosing the right leaders in the May 9 elections.

Poe said her "Gobyernong may Puso" will continue the gains of the current administration while ensuring that the benefits of economic growth are felt by every Filipino.

The five presidential candidates all showed up for the debate held at the University of Pangasinan in Dagupan City. The last debate before the elections was hosted by ABS-CBN and Manila Bulletin.
