BONGBONG MARCOS CONTINUES LEAD IN NEW PULSO NG PILIPINO SURVEY

Vice Presidential candidate Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. continued with his lead in the new non-commissioned survey conducted by pollster Pulso ng Pilipino.

The survey which was conducted by the Issues and Advocacy Center from the period April 11 to 16, 2016 on 1,800 respondents nationwide showed Marcos improving his rating to 29 percent from 27 percent from the previous survey conducted on March 16 to 22, 2016 by the same survey firm.

Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo came in second with 25 percent followed by Senator Francis Escudero with 23 percent. In fourth place was Senator Allan Peter Cayetano with 15 percent followed by Senators Gringo Honasan and Antonio Trillanes IV with 4 percent and 3 percent, respectively.

Marcos maintained his strength over Metro Manila as he garnered the most number of votes with 38 percent. He is also the most favored candidate among the Class A/B segment with 27 percent, Class D with 23 percent and for the first time among Class E with 24 percent saying they will vote for him.

Despite the non-stop politically motivated attacks, the survey is proof, according to Ed Malay, Director of the Center, that "the alleged Martial Law atrocities to which Marcos critics are trying to highlight to stall the Vice Presidential bid of Sen. Marcos is no longer an issue."

"Indeed, the young Marcos is right that the country must move on 30 years after the much-ballyhooed People Power Revolution and his campaign platform that is anchored on unity and progress will bear this out," Malay concluded.
