POE WANTS "SIMPLE" MALACANANG SATELLITE OFFICE
IN EVERY REGION

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental - Leading presidential candidate Sen. Grace Poe yesterday said she would create a "simple" Malacanang satellite office in every region of the country to bring her government closer to the people.

In a speech she delivered at the Bacolod City Public Plaza Friday night, the standard-bearer of the Partido Galing at Puso (PGP) coalition said she will ensure she will go around the country to hear the people if she gets elected in the May polls.

"Mga kababayan, kung ako ang magiging Pangulo hindi ako mapapako sa Malacanang lamang. Ang isang Pangulo ay dapat naglilibot sa buong Pilipinas," she told the crowd present, estimated to be 20,000, at the public plaza.

She added: "Ang kailangan ko lamang ay ito: simpleng opisina sa bawat rehiyon ng Pilipinas para palagi nyo akong nakikita."

Poe, who was adopted as daughter by the late actor Fernando Poe Jr. and actress Susan Roces, has said she would take her oath of office in Jaro, Iloilo City, if she wins the May polls. "At tandaan ninyo pag ako nanalo, lahat tututok sa Visayas. Bakit? Dahil dito ako manunumpa sa Negros, sa Iloilo dahil gusto kong malaman ng lahat na ako ay kasama ninyo, na ako ay kababayan ninyo," she said.

Earlier in the day, some 30 congressmen from various party-list groups, together with Negros Occidental Rep. Alfredo "Albee" Benitez came out here to openly endorse and support the May 2016 presidential bid of Sen. Poe.

Benitez used to be the provincial chairman of the Liberal Party but bolted out of the ruling party late last year.
