BONGBONG ON 'MAR-NOY' TANDEM: DESPERATION OR TRIAL BALLOON?

DESPERATION could have crept into the camp of administration presidential candidate Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, or it just released a trial balloon to gauge the pulse of the people.

This was the reaction of Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. to reports that a "Mar-Noy" tandem, a team-up between Roxas and President Aquino in the 2016 elections, is in the offing.

"For me, it looks like a little desperation on the part of the camp of Mar and it somewhat shows that they can't get (a vice presidential candidate for him)," Marcos said.

Marcos said if he had his way, he would advise Roxas, whom he considers as a friend, to stop floating this idea because it only creates an impression that nobody wants to run with him as vice president.

"I would advise him na huwag ganoon kasi ang dating sa tao ay parang walang gustong sumama sa 'yo kaya't napipilitan kayong kunin si Pangulong Aquino para mag-vice (president)," he said.

But Marcos also thought that the Mar-Noy tandem could just be a trial balloon to test whether it is acceptable to the people or not.

"Kung minsan parang trial balloon na sinusubuk-subukan lang para makita ang reaksyon ng tao. Siguro isa 'yun. I don't know kung gaano talaga kaseryoso iyung move na silang dalawa ang magka-tandem," he said.
