Q: Lumamig na po ba ang inyong mga kasamahan sa Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) pagkatapos nung mga hearing sa Mamasapano incident?

SPFMD: In the Senate we have always maintained the position na magkaiba ang BBL at ang ang Mamasapano event, in terms of the substantive discussion. As Speaker Belmonte said, it is still in top of our agenda, hihintayin po namin sa Senado, and I think ganoon din sa House - na i-submit ang committee report sa plenaryo. Pagdating sa plenaryo ay we will give it priority in the calendar.

Q: Yung pagkakapatay po ni Basit Usman, do you think it will help boost or address the trust issues between the MILF and some of the critics of BBL?

SPFMD: Certainly. Assuming it's true - kung totoo nga na patay na si Usman - makakatulong iyan sa pagbalik ng tiwala.

Q: Confident po ba kayo na maipapasa ang BBL by June 11?

SPFMD: That is on top of our priority agenda, once na maisumite po sa plenaryo ng magkabilang kapulungan ang committee report.

Q: Magiging madali po ba ito o magiging mahirap?

SPFMD: We will exercise our leadership in both chambers of Congress to give priority in the debates of the BBL.

Q: Aside from the BBL, what are the other priority bills?

SPFMD: Mayroon pang ibang mga economic measures na aming napagkasunduan. Halimbawa andiyan yung Cabotage Law, bibigyan yan ng priority, yung Tax Incentive Monitoring and Transparency Act (TIMTA), yung merger ng Landbank at ng Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP). Nagkasundo kami ng priority for both chambers of Congress.

Q: Reaction po sa laban ni Pacquiao?

SPFMD: Well sa akin po, sa laban, may panalo, may talo. Dito sa labang ito, sangayon sa mga judges, si Mayweather ang nanalo. Pero sa ating mga Pilipino, si Pacquiao, pinakita niya ang spirit ng isang taong nagsumikap na magdala ng karangalan sa ating bansa. And for that, we consider him as the People's Champion. Sa aking tingin, siya po ay nagdala ng karangalan sa ating bansa.

Q: Do you think Pacquiao should retire?

SPFMD: Retirement from boxing - or politics- ay nasa sa kanya po iyan.

Q: Sa 2016, will the Liberal Party release its lineup for 2016 by June?

SPFMD: I have no control over that, that is not for me to say. That is not for the two Vice Chairs (Speaker Belmonte) to decide. The whole leadership of the party will decide.
