Statement of Senator Nancy Binay on the International Day of Families

Families are at the very center of every Filipino tradition and way of life as we have all grown up inside tightly-knit circles from childhood until we venture into new pastures with new challenges and responsibilities.

Today, the world celebrates the 20th anniversary of the International Day of Families with the theme "Families Matter for the Achievement of Development Goals; International Year of the Family +20".

Though the country always finds itself beset with problems, one thing that remains constant in the lives of its people is the love of family and I hope that our kababayans can join us in celebrating the richness of family life we Filipinos have--the kind that reverberate with love and understanding long after we are gone.

Totoo pong mahirap ang buhay sa Pilipinas ngunit sa piling ng ating mga pamilya, nagagawa po nating malampasan ang mga mabibigat na pagsubok sa buhay.

Ngayong Araw ng mga Pamilya, sana po ay makita ng ating gobyerno ang kahalagahan ng pagsuporta sa mga pamilya dahil sa sila po ang nagbibigay ng suporta sa bawat isa sa ating mga mamamayan.

Sumasaludo po sa mga pamilya na walang humpay ang pagsuporta sa mga miyembro nito, lalo na sa mga kababaihan at kabataan! Mabuhay po ang pamilyang Pilipino!
