Senate recognized at Metrobank Foundation's 35th Anniversary

The Senate of the Philippines, represented by Senate Secretary Oscar G. Yabes, was recognized by Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) as one of its Partners in Empowerment, Advocacy, and Commitment to Excellence (PEACE) during MBFI's 35th anniversary celebration last January 29 at Le Pavillon, Metropolitan Pbark, Pasay City.

MBFI issued a press release commending the Senate for its "invaluable contribution to give honor and tribute to Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos through adopting resolutions to honor the Metrobank Outstanding Teachers, Soldiers and Police Officers thereby strengthening these public institutions."

MBFI, the corporate social responsibility arm of Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company (Metrobank), celebrated its anniversary with a theme of "Launching Dreams" with Cardinal Luis Antonio G. Tagle as guest of honor. Other attendees are from the national and local government, academe, business, diplomatic, non-government and socio-civic organizations.

"Through its recognition and social development programs, Metrobank Foundation has continuously strengthened, support, and assist the Filipinos in their endeavors, raising their abilities and way of life, inspiring and uplifting their spirits so that they may be empowered enough to reach their dreams."

"Metrobank Foundation has been engaged in various social development initiatives in education, visual arts, health care, journalism, and calamity assistance in the last 35 years. Through its Grants Programs, the Foundation has emphasized the importance of partnerships in development projects to make them more relevant and sustainable for human development and nation-building," the press release stated.
