Cayetano's Innovative Campaign Gets Rave Reviews
Uses Online Listening Tour Stops To Share PTK Message

"True service takes innovation. If the desire to serve is truly genuine, then you'll have to do whatever it takes to reach your constituents. That's what we see in Senator Alan."

Cayetano's supporters from the tech world had this to say about the senator they dubbed as "The Most Tech-Savvy Campaigner of 2013".

Cayetano has taken his Listening Tour online during the course of the campaign in a bid to reach more Filipinos and learn of their concerns - a move that resonated well with supporters all over the world.

"It takes a special candidate to exert all his efforts to reach us no matter where we are," said Reynabel Bataler from Saudi Arabia - one of the participants of the Google Hangout Cayetano conducted last month in a bid to learn of the various concerns plaguing overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) wherever they may be.

Cayetano and tech-savvy celebrity Bianca Gonzalez had their webcams set up at the Mind Museum in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig but the discussion was with OFWs from Europe, the United States, Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

"I was really excited to take part in this event. The fact that Senator Alan took to using technology to serve his constituents and hear what they have to say really makes me feel that a new type of public service is being ushered in!" Bianca said as she detailed how the Google Hangout participants shared their experiences working abroad as OFWs as well as the difficulties they face in applying for permits, assistance and in fulfilling other requirements. In response to this, Cayetano itemised his various plans to address these concerns.

Cayetano continued his online Listening Tour by conducting Town Hall meeting with call center employees at the Informatics campus in Eastwood City, Libis last month streamed online via his Facebook fan page hosted by internet celebrity Ashley Gosengfiao and supported by her sister, cosplayer Alodia Gosengfiao. "When I was tapped to host this event, I felt that I really had to because I believe in using technology to help bring about change in our society. Senator Alan truly embodied that through this online Town Hall meeting," Ashley said.

Cayetano reiterated his promise to push for increased support for the country's emerging business process outsourcing (BPO) industry as a means to solutions to Filipinos' income and employment concerns. "The key to solving this dilemma is helping Filipinos establish their own businesses. During the course of this campaign, I have suggested that the government use the existing Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program to enact a capital-lending scheme to its beneficiaries to enable them to set up their own businesses," he said.

Through these initiatives, Cayetano cemented the idea behind his campaign in the minds of every Filipino: to promote a better life not only for certain individuals but for every sector and every Filipino family.

"The goal of my entire campaign is to ensure that the stellar economic growth that the country is now enjoying is felt by all. By addressing issues related to PTK: Presyo, Trabaho, Kita we can ensure that every Filipino will be given more choices in life and not be driven by circumstance to suffer through high prices, lack of jobs, and low wages," he said.
