SEN. GUINGONA LEADS TURNOVER
OF 30KVA GENERATOR TO PHIL. MARINES

DONATION TO HELP SOLDIERS IN PEACE & SECURITY MISSION IN SULU

Senator Teofisto "TG" Guingona III on Wednesday led the turnover ceremony of 30 Kilo Volt Ampere (KVA) generator set to the Marine Battalion Landing Team 6 (MBLT 6) of Philippine Navy held at the Philippine Marine Corps Headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The equipment is vital in the operations of the MBLT 6 which is assigned to keep the peace situation in Sulu, Mindanao.

"Albeit small, our marine forces in Sulu highly need this essential equipment which can help them undertake both their security and development operations better. Our soldiers will no longer have to wade through the darkness just to get their job done," Sen. Guingona said.

The need for generators in battalion landing teams in Sulu was raised by the Western Mindanao Command when Sen. Guingona visited Sulu last July. The need arises due to massive blackouts that can hamper the military operations in the South.

"This is just a small token of appreciation that we have to give to our soldiers who are doing their tasks and fulfilling their promise to serve and protect the Filipinos," Sen. Guingona emphasized.

The generator turnover was made possible through the generous donation of The Aboitiz Group to answer the needs of the military forces in Mindanao. The donation is also a symbol of the appreciation of the hard work of our soldiers.

The military forces in Mindanao not only provide security missions in the South, but they also provide community relation activities. The location of Sulu makes it hard for the military forces to get resources immediately.

With the donation, the military forces can now effectively keep the peace and do their missions especially at night.
