Statement of Sen. Serge Osmeña on the death
of Journalist and former PTA head Nixon Cua

I would like to express my sincerest condolences to the bereaved family of former Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA) General Manager and journalist Nixon Cua, who joined our Creator on the evening of July 23, 2012 after battling for his survival following a dastardly and cowardly act of young, hardened criminals.

Nixon was a brilliant mind and a kind-hearted soul. He was smart and sharp, and always raring and ready to take on new and difficult challenges. He was never short on intelligent viewpoints, brilliant ideas and contentious options.

Nixon's untimely departure accentuates the pressing need for our law enforcement authorities to seriously improve crime prevention throughout the country. The nation shall not tolerate a repeat of such senseless death.
