Senator Marcos advocates food and nutrition stability amid climate change

Senator Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. joined the celebration of Nutrition Month with the Philippine Association of Nutrition, Inc. (PAN), NGOs, local official, and students. At the 65th Annual Convention of PAN held at Dusit Thani Manila on July 10, 2012, Sen. Marcos delivered the inspirational message to the attending health and nutrition experts and encouraged them to be firm in their initiative to partner with the government towards achieving food and nutrition security in the Philippines.

In this year's convention, PAN focused on climate change adaption as a significant factor in battling the high demand for food production and sustenance. Senator Marcos also cited the statistics of hunger in our country for the second quarter of the year, providing figures on the three categories given by the Social Weather Stations, as overall, moderate, and severe hunger. According to the Ilocano Senator, the readiness and active participation of our citizenry and other allied organizations has helped mitigate the enormous challenge of attaining food stability.

In the same forum, Senator Marcos stressed on the importance of observing proper dietary values and exhorted the audience to live and lead a healthy lifestyle.
