Senator Marcos turns over Project SARO's to LGU's in Region 8

Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. awarded on Saturday 30 June 2012 the approved special allotment release order (SARO) to various local government units for the financing of the construction, repair and improvement of various projects in Eastern Samar, Leyte and Biliran provinces.

"I am happy to announce that finally your SARO has been released," Senator Marcos said in his brief message during simple rites held at the Patio Victoria Tacloban (Baluarte) in Tacloban City last Saturday.

During the program, Senator Marcos personally turned over the approved SARO's to LGU recipients as part of the first tranche of his priority development assistance fund for 2012.

The recipients are Councilor Solangelie Libanan, president of Philippine Councilor's League Eastern Samar Chapter, for the construction of Wet Market in Maydolong, Eastern Samar; Barangay Chairman Santiago F. Hamtig, Jr. for the rehabilitation/repair of Barangay Road from Barangay Tinaguban to Barangay Camansi Road in Tinaguban, Carigara, Leyte. Mayor Mario Quijano of Pinabacdao, Samar for the construction of school building at Pinabacdao National High School; Mayor Coefredo Uy of Catbalogan City for the rehabilitation/improvement of multi-purpose Building; and Barangay Chairman Juan Asugas, Jr. for the rehabilitation of multi-purpose building at Barangay Trabugan in Maripipi, Biliran.

From Tacloban, Senator Marcos flew to Cebu City to personally distribute wheelchairs to four indigent beneficiaries held at the district office of Representative Gabriel Luis Quisumbing of Cebu's 6th District.

The beneficiaries who received wheelchairs from Senator Marcos were Jofel Taperla, 13, of Brgy. Maguikay, Mandaue City; Ruel Tunacao, 47, of Brgy. Tayud, Consolacion, Cebu; Jay Noble, 8, of Brgy. Polpogan, Consolacion, Cebu; and Isidra Torejos, 72, of Brgy. Casuntingan, Mandaue City, Cebu.
