SEN. GUINGONA ALLOCATES P5-MILLION
FOR PAOMBONG HOSPITAL UNIT

BETTER HEALTH FACILITIES BOOST SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

PAOMBONG, BULACAN - Committed to support the development of local government units (LGUs) in the country, Senator Teofisto "TG" Guingona III has allocated P5 million out of his priority development assistance fund (PDAF) to finance the construction of a regional health unit (RHU) here that is expected to benefit about 16,000 residents.

"Good health is one of the primary assets of development in the society. We cannot move forward if the basic necessities of our citizens are not met. It is my duty and responsibility as an elected national official to see to it that our kababayans are given primary health care and other basic services that government should provide for them," Sen. Guingona said.

The good governance advocate added the construction of the RHU in Barangay Binacod in Paombong will help the medical needs of the indigents who used to travel by boat just to get the basic medical attention in the nearby towns. Paombong is the only third class municipality in the province of Bulacan.

"As a lawmaker, I believe that safe and efficient healthcare should not be a privilege of a few but a right of every Filipino. The P5 million fund release will support this Paombong RHU so that citizens, especially the poor and the marginalized, will have access to safe and effective healthcare services," he said.

Sen. Guingona added that funding of RHU is part of his campaign promises to promote good governance through transparent and accountable leadership.

"Instead of wasting public funds on inefficient and meaningless activities, we will refocus these to ensure direct, immediate and substantial support for the poor and vulnerable," he added.

Senator Guingona's medical and infrastructure assistance projects in various LGUs are part of his legislative agenda to uplift the lives of the Filipinos through good governance.
