Cayetano on GMA's arrest warrant: 'She is now being brought to justice - prosecuted and not persecuted'

The President promised justice for the Filipino people. Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo symbolized impunity, use of government power and resources to steal, cheat and lie. She is now being brought to justice - prosecuted and not persecuted.

The President's resolve, principles and political will are much appreciated and will hopefully now bear fruit. I call upon the Judiciary to be fair and endeavor to give due process to all parties so that justice may prevail.

The former President always said that she would face charges in the proper forum. Now that the case is with the courts, this is deemed the proper venue to justly prove her guilt or innocence.

The administration averting a constitutional crisis while not allowing the former President from escaping should serve as an example to those who think they can steal, cheat and lie and get away with it.
