SENATOR KIKO PANGILINAN'S STATEMENT ON CURRENT AFP SCANDALS
TO OUR SOLDIERS: RALLY BEHIND MENDOZA AND RABUSA

We call on our ordinary soldiers, those risking their lives in battle, not to be dismayed by these new developments. They should instead support their officers, Rabusa and Mendoza, who have shown exemplary courage and integrity in coming out with their revelations at the risk of their own lives. These are the true marks of gallantry in soldiering, which every soldier has in them.

Don't be dismayed with the rotten tomatoes tarnishing the name of the armed forces. You have in your ranks true officers who are battling side by side with you as you face the enemies of the state and willing to risk their lives for you.

The challenge now is for more ranking officers, the generals who know more about the anomalies in the AFP, to come out. This is your chance to shine through. This is your chance to rid the institution of elements that have tarnished it. This is your chance to imagine a better military establishment for our tomorrow.

Sa ating mga kawal, huwag ninyong tingnan na balakid ang pangyayaring ito. Kundi, dapat ay tingnan ito na pagkakataon na linisin ang sandatahang lakas na kapag natupad ay hindi lamang bagong bota, pabahay, o pag-aaral ng inyong mga anak ang matatamasa ninyo. Maaaring mismo ang giyerang kinakaharap ninyo ngayon ay mawala na rin kung maisasaayos natin ang ating lipunan.
