ANGARA INAUGURATES FISHERY PROJECTS IN AURORA

Baler, Aurora--Senator Edgardo J. Angara led the inauguration of the Multi-Species Fish Hatchery in Barangay Zabali and the Multi-Species Fish Nursery in Barangay Lobot Mejares last week.

These are two of the many ongoing livelihood and agriculture projects spread throughout the province of Aurora.

"We are trying to maximize Aurora's rich resources, particularly in the agriculture and fisheries sector--these programs not only contribute to the province's economy, but also provide opportunities for better livelihood. These are the indicators of a progressive mindset," he stated.

The Multi-Species Fish Hatchery and Multi-Species Fish Nursery are part of a single program spearheaded by the veteran lawmaker and operated by the local government and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources under the Department of Agriculture.

"The unity and cooperation between different local agencies and bodies, to embody our continuous commitment to the development of Aurora as a whole.

Angara, former Agriculture Secretary, highlighted the long-term plans being put into action all over the province of Aurora.

"You can see that most of the projects being implemented are created to benefit the people not just in the next year or two, but rather in the long run--even our children and grandchildren would reap the fruits of these programs," explained Angara.
