Villar gets record-high satisfaction rating in SWS Nov-Dec survey with 74%

Nacionalista Party President Manny Villar expanded further his public satisfaction rating with a record-breaking 74 percent of those polled by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) in the last two months of 2008 expressing satisfaction on his performance as a public servant and a member of the Senate even after relinquishing his post as Senate president during the last quarter. Villar's over-all satisfaction rating in September 2008 was at 61 percent.

Senator Juan Ponce Enrile took over the Senate presidency in November 2008 and was already Senate head when the SWS quarterly survey was conducted from November 28 to December 1, 2008.

Villar's 74 percent satisfaction rating was also higher compared to the 61 percent of Vice-President Noli de Castro, 22 percent of Speaker Prospero Nograles and 30 percent of Supreme Court Chief Justice Reynato Puno in the same SWS survey of the top officials of the land.

Villar likewise firmed up his satisfaction rating in National Capital Region (NCR) leaping from 56 percent last September to 78 percent in the November-December survey.

Luzon (72%), Visayas (77 %) and Mindanao ( 74 %) continue to give him high satisfaction ratings with an average of 74.3 percent across the three regions with the biggest expansion recorded in Luzon from 59 percent in September to 72 percent.

The former Senate president also did not lose his "luster" as a public servant and a member of the Senate with both the urban and rural sectors delivering improved satisfaction ratings for him.

Those polled in the urban areas gave Villar a 76 percent satisfaction rating from the 62 percent in September while the rural sector gave him a 72 percent, up by 13 percentage points from the previous 59 percent.
