Loren launches new website

Senator Loren Legarda launched her official website, www.lorenlegarda.com.ph today, which coincides with the 10th anniversary celebration of the Luntiang Pilipinas at the Kweba, Rizal Park.

The website provides information about Senator Loren, her achievements, the bills she authored and co-authored, including those which have been enacted into laws, her advocacies, and her viewpoints on critical national issues, among others.

The website acknowledges Loren's many talents and foray into many fields. A capsulated 3-minute preview of her 30 years in public service through media provides an interesting introduction to the website.

The 'About Loren' and 'Milestones' sections give highlights of her professional career as a legislator, as an advocate for environment, education, peace, women and children, and health, and as a broadcast journalist.

The 'News & Issues' section focuses on Loren's stand and actions on issues and concerns vital to the nation's well-being. The speeches of the Senator addressing these matters are in the 'Speeches' section of the website.

Web browsers can check on the bills and resolutions authored and sponsored by the Senator in her dedication as a legislator. These measures are geared towards environmental protection, promotion of entrepreneurship, protection of the rights of women and children, overseas workers and domestic laborers, providing better health services to the public, social justice, national unity and inculcating the value of nationalism and love for the country among Filipinos.

Senator Loren Legarda brought forth the passage of many laws of national significance, including the following: the Magna Carta for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (RA 9501), the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act (RA 9262), the Philippine Ear Research Institute Act ( RA 9245), the Philippine Tropical Fabric Law (RA 9242), the Anti-Child Labor Law (RA 9231), the Anti Trafficking in Persons Act (RA 9208), the Eid'l Fitr Holiday Law (RA 9177), and the Solid Waste Management Act (RA 9003), among many others.
