TWO OFWS COME HOME IN COFFINS
Villar: What's the real cause of death?

The families of two overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who died under mysterious circumstances abroad demanded a probe of the real cause of their kins' death.

The two OFWs were identified as Jeffrey Alberto So, 25, who died in Dubai, and Gilbert Angeles, 29, who died in Singapore. Their remains arrived in the country last weekend.

So arrived in Dubai on June 13 and reportedly committed suicide by leaping from the fourth floor of a building on June 24, merely 11 days after his arrival in the United Arab Emirates. Villar's lawyer accompanied So's family members in fetching the remains at the airport.

Angeles, an engineer, was found dead in his room in Singapore on June 30, with probers initially claiming it was a case of suicide. His family believes otherwise since the OFW was reported to be joyous after watching the recent Pacquiao fight.

Villar has pledged legal support to the cases of So and Angeles, as he pushed for an investigation of the real circumstances behind the sudden death of the young overseas workers.

"We grieve with the family of our OFWs and demand to know the real circumstances behind their demise," Villar, Nacionalista President, said.

The families of So and Angeles earlier asked the help of the Senate President, who is a known crusader of OFW rights and welfare.

Villar is urging the public to report cases of OFWs in distress via his OFW helpline 09174226800.
