KIKO URGES GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS TO FOCUS MORE ON 2008 INSTEAD OF MANEUVERING AND POSITIONING FOR 2010
"This is a blunt and painful reminder that government and its leaders must focus on delivering results today instead of maneuvering and positioning for 2010. Juan dela Cruz wants solutions, he wants results and he wants it today." --- KIKO

After the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)flunked the Philippines in its safety audit, Senate Majority Leader and Indpendent senator Kiko Pangilinan today urged government officials to focus more on the pressing problems of the country instead of planning and concentrating goals for the 2010 Presidential elections.

"This is a blunt & painful reminder that government and its leaders must focus on delivering results today instead of maneuvering and positioning for 2010. Juan dela Cruz wants solutions, he wants results and he wants it today." Kiko said.

It will be recalled, the FAA informed the Philippine government that it has downgraded our aviation operations for not complying with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) safety standards. And as a result, the Philippine civil aviation safety rating dropped to Category 2, putting it alongside countries such as Bangladesh, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Indonesia.

"At this point, more important than finding out who dropped the ball is to immediately put in place the necessary solutions to address the downgrade. More than anything else what is expected of government is to provide concrete, tangible results." Kiko ended.
