KIKO ON THE P1B FUND AGAINST HUNGER

"Simula nang nabalitaan natin na mahigit 34 milyon na katao sa populasyon ng sambayanang Pilipino ang nananatiling gutom, ako'y muling nababahala na ang nabalitaang P1B na inilaan para sa isang Task Force na lalaban sa gutom ay hindi magagamit sa totoong intensyon nito.

We call on Secretary Duque, Secretary Yap and Secretary Lapus to be transparent about the usage of P1B fund for the Food for School, Food for Work Programs and the Hunger Mitigation Program. Haste makes waste, so they say. It is important we alleviate hunger at the soonest possible time but 9 months may seem farfetched a timeline. P1B allocated to hasten the trickle down effect is a very large amount that is prone to abuse and corruption. Sana'y and P1B na naglalayong pawiin ang gutom ng sambayanan ay hindi masasayang lamang sa katiwalian."
