LACSON: COMMON FOLK TIRING OF
GOVT SPINS ON ECONOMIC GROWTH

LIPA CITY, Batangas The governments repeated claims of economic gains are turning out to be abused media spins made only for the newspapers.

Sen. Panfilo Lacson validated this anew Saturday after touching base with drivers at a transport terminal at the SM City Lipa here, during the campaign of the Genuine Opposition (GO).

Parang sa diyaryo lang ano (All this talk of economic progress is just fodder for newspapers), Lacson said.

During his visit, Lacson asked some drivers if they felt the supposed economic gains under the Arroyo government. The drivers said they did not.

Only last week in Laguna province, Lacson talked to farmer who wondered aloud why he could not get enough funds to buy fertilizer for his farm.

At the time, Lacson explained to him that the money for fertilizer had been diverted to then administration presidential candidate Gloria Arroyos campaign kitty.

Earlier, Lacson and his fellow GO candidates received a warm welcome from residents of areas where their motorcade passed.

This is still Southern Tagalog, bailiwick pa rin ng opposition ito. Traditionally and historically dito humahakot ng boto ang opposition (This is still part of Southern Tagalog, which we consider our bailiwick. Traditionally and historically we get many of our votes here), Lacson said.

Part ng Mega Manila ito, damang dama rito pagka may abuso sa national government, damang dama nila ang pagaabuso at paghihirap (This is part of Mega Manila so the abuses of the national government are felt here), he added.

He added the candidates early visit at the gas station was an opportunity for the GO candidates to consult with local residents on their daily problems.
