SENS. LOI AND JINGGOY ESTRADA TO JOIN
PRAYER RALLY VS CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY

Senators Luisa Loi Ejercito Estrada and Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada expressed support to the unity of the people against the illegal convening of a constituent assembly (Con-Ass) to amend the Constitution as they vowed to join the prayer rally at the Luneta Park on Sunday.

The two senators said the desperate move of the majority in the House of Representatives to railroad the Con-Ass is illegal and violates the Constitution the people should show their vigilance and support the prayer rally organized by religious leaders to protest against the abuses of Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and her political allies.

Sen. Loi Estrada said the countrys attention at this time should not focus on the Charter change which is only divisive and wasteful. We should attend first to the poor victims of recent typhoons that need relief and rehabilitation in the devastated areas.

Instead of forging national unity and a cohesiveness of purpose, Charter change would only further divide and polarize the nation into more warring camps and would have a negative impact in the international community, she said.

Sen Jinggoy Estrada said the people should continue the protest against the abuses of Mrs. Arroyo and her allies who want to change the Charter to keep themselves in power.

He said the arrogance of Mrs. Arroyo and the House majority had united the Filipinos from all sectors of the society to fight the Con-Ass and the wrong policies of the Arroyo Administration.

Mrs. Arroyo had finally succeeded in uniting the divided Filipino people, the whole nation is now united against her and will join the prayer rally against her administration on Sunday, he added.

He called on freedom-loving citizens to join the prayer rally on Sunday at the Luneta and show Mrs. Arroyo that the people are against Con-Ass.
