AMBASSADOR DEL ROSARIO PRAISED FOR GOOD PERFORMANCE

Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Nene Q. Pimentel, Jr. (PDP-Laban) today said Ambassador to Washington D.C. Albert del Rosario is bowing out of the diplomatic service worthy of the gratitude and appreciation of the Filipino people for his exemplary service in representing his country in the United States.

In terms of performance, the way Ambassador del Rosario has done his job would be difficult to surpass, Pimentel said. I understand the Filipino community in the US speaks highly of him. His resignation is a loss to the countrys diplomatic community.

Pimentel noted media reports since last year that the Palace had been eyeing certain prominent personalities for appointment to the premier diplomatic post.

I guess Ambassador del Rosario, like the gentleman that he is, is voluntarily giving way to the rumors that he is on the way to pave the way for the appointment of people close to the President, he said.
