MORE JOB AND LIVELIHOOD OPPORTUNITIES
FOR EVERY FAMILY--GORDON

On the occasion of Labor Day, Senator Richard J. Gordon called on the creation of more job and livelihood opportunities for every family in the Philippines to combat the rising poverty in the country.

Every Filipino family must be able to support itself without having to depend on just one worker in the family earning for the entire family, declared Gordon.

There must be work for every member of the family who is ready, willing, and able to work, added Gordon.

Labor Day should not just be a celebration of the employed. We should also take this opportunity to give attention to the unemployed, especially those who are willing to work but cannot find work, continued Gordon.

Employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in areas like tourism must be aggressively promoted so that individuals and families can work, save, and invest in order to prosper, said Gordon.
