It would be best for the nation if Malacanang recognizes that it erred in its recklessness, respects the ruling and moves on. Accepting defeat will be good for the soul. Difficult as it may be for those who wield so much governmental power to accept, Malacanang should recognize that despite all the influence and resources at its disposal, the Constitution has laid down limits to what it can do. If Malacanang expects the rest of the nation to respect the rule of law and the constitution, it must show the way by bowing humbly to the dictates of the Constitution as laid down by the 14-0 vote of the Supreme Court.
