GMA CRITICIZED FOR CLAIMING SHE HAS ALREADY
SAID HER PIECE ON GARCI SCANDAL

Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Nene Q. Pimentel, Jr. (PDP-Laban) today said President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyos claim that she has already done her part to address the Hello Garci scandal betrays her continuing attempt to cover up her involvement in the rigging of the results of the 2004 presidential election.

Pimentel said the reported break-in by administration operatives at the House of Representatives building in January-February, 2005 in which they changed genuine election returns with falsified ones shows that the President still has a lot to explain about the controversy.

While it is true that the alleged massive electoral cheating was the subject of legislative inquiries and impeachment case against Mrs. Arroyo that was dismissed by the House, the search for truth was frustrated by the efforts of the President and her cohorts to block the investigation and to harass witnesses, he said.
