Dumbfounded Drilon: Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon, during Committee of the Whole hearing Tuesday, August 4, 2020, says he was dumbfounded to hear that the actuarial life of PhilHealth is only good for a year. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the agency was expected to remain afloat for 10 years. However, PhilHealth officials said the increased benefit payout and decreased direct contribution during the pandemic shall put the agency in trouble by next year. “It is worrisome if PhilHealth officials say that PhilHealth shall go out of existence by 2022," said Drilon.
