Villar cites food caterers: Speaking during the 18th Induction Ceremony of the Food Caterers Association of the Philippines at the Marco Polo Hotel , Senator Cynthia A. Villar acknowledges the big help of food caterers to farmers, fisherfolks, agri-entrepreneurs, and other food-related or allied businesses, especially the micro and small businesses. “You know, 99 percent of the all the businesses in our country are micro and small businesses. And half of the small and micro enterprises or companies are involved in the food and beverage sector,” said Villar. On top of that, she pointed out that this industry provides more than 65 percent of employment. The re-electionist senator said that as chairperson of the Senate agriculture and food committee, the industry is close to her heart.
