Sotto pays tribute to women leaders: Senate President Vicente Sotto III pays tribute to the work and legacy of the late Senator Geronima Pescon in advancing women's rights and causes during his speech at the 60th Founding Anniversary of the Federation of Asia Pacific Women's Association (FAWA) on Thursday, September 27, 2019. Sotto said as the country's first female senator, Pecson initiated the creation of FAWA, which has contributed to cultural understanding, harmony and peace in the region. "Her foresight, intelligence and leadership have opened doors and paved the way for countless other women in the region to hone their talents and skills and use these to improve society," Sotto said.
