Equality in transport industry: Akbayan Senator Risa Hontiveros on Wednesday signed the commitment pledge for the #inFAIRness national campaign that promotes gender rights in the transport sector. Senator Hontiveros opened the event at the Senate of the Philippines and stated that the transport sector needs to be reformed so that women are protected from harassment and discrimination. She added that transport industry should ensure that women are paid competitively and given equal opportunities to advance and develop full careers. Hontiveros pointed out that opening opportunities for women broadens perspective and multiplies talent, which is conducive to innovation.
