No rush on Cha-cha: Senator Francis Pangilinan tells reporters that the Senate must remain vigilant and not rush its discussions on the proposed Charter Change during the Kapihan sa Senado media forum Thursday, August 9, 2018. "The country's economic managers themselves said the shift to federalism would require around P130 billion in direct costs, not including the effects to our investment climate. The discussion on Charter Change is no joke," he said. Pangilinan, chair of the Senate Committee on Constitutional Amendments and Revision of Codes, said the senators have agreed to let the committee conduct more hearings on the issue, with the committee looking to submit its full report to the plenary in October.
