Sen. Cynthia Villar at “Building the Road to Zero Waste”: Bigger problems like further deterioration of our marine resources and contamination of the sources of drinking water will confront us if pollution in our waterways and bodies of water will worsen,” warns Sen. Cynthia A. Villar. The senator, chairman of the Senate environment committee, tells the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) Waste Management Forum that she intend to amend the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 to make it more attuned to the needs of the present times. She stresses that if all provisions of the law were fully complied with, we may not have too many environmental problems or maybe the ecological problems and challenges that we are contending with right now, will be easier to deal with.
