Senate Committee on Energy: Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, chair of the Senate Committee on Energy, on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, presides over a hearing on a legislative measure that seeks to enhance the governance structure of the Energy Regulatory Commission. The measure, which aims to increase transparency and accountability in the energy regulation sector, proposes that live internet streaming of hearings conducted by the ERC be made available on its website and available to the public within one week from the date of the hearing. “These reforms will give life to the constitutional rights of our citizens to have access to public information which directly affects the power costs they see in their monthly electricity bills.
