WATER IN AGRICULTURE: Since the Philippines is an "agricultural country," Sen. Cynthia A. Villar cites the importance of having a steady supply of water for agricultural consumption. Together with Villar, (L-R) Ganesh Pangare, Regional Director, Asia Pacific Int'l Water Association; M. Gandhi, President, UBM Exhibitions Philippines; Eulogio Agatep II, Water Works Association President and Edgar Lopez, International Affairs Association Vice President, joined the ribbon-cutting ceremony that ushered the opening of the Philippine Water Works Association (PWWA) Water Philippines 2017 Conference and Expo. As chairperson of the Senate Committees on Agriculture and Food and Environment and Natural Resources, Villar said the event's theme, "Wastewater: The Untapped Resource Needed in Agriculture” is very relevant since the agriculture sector is the biggest user of water.
